Woodredon Estate

High Beech
Welcome to the Woodredon Estate, situated within the sacred and secret heart of Epping Forest. Surrounded by ancient woodland and nestled amongst mature trees with their ever-changing hues and dappled light, it is an oasis of calm to live, work and play.

The Estate

Approached via a meandering lane weaving its way through the forest and flanked by stunning pastoral vistas, arrival at the historic wrought iron gates completes the sense of being somewhere truly special.

The Estate consists of eleven exclusive and uniquely individual themed apartments, across a range of layouts, and one unique house converted from the original stable building with separate guest annex.

The House

Woodredon House is a grand country residence that combines both Victorian and Edwardian detailing. With its sublime forest setting, this fine house has been lovingly returned to its former glory to accommodate eleven opulent apartments, designed to appeal to both loft lovers and traditionalists, with the addition of a new wing – including an exceptional duplex Penthouse sharing the air with the treetops – to accommodate those with a more-modernistic and contemporary taste.

The original house was built by Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton (3rd Baronet). The Buxton family were noted for their prominent role in social reform and the abolition of slavery, as well as being part of the Truman, Hanbury, Buxton brewery empire. Despite its many subsequent owners and guises, its unrivalled sense of style and stature remain as it did when first built.

Our ultra-high specification, supported by the very latest technological infrastructure, means that every whim and want is taken care of – perfect for those with flexible homeworking lifestyles. Enjoy uncompromising luxurious finishes, down to the finest detail.

As well as the Estate’s historic electric-gated entrance, the development benefits further from its own electrically-operated gates. There is also a covered cart-lodge parking bay with a secure rear storage room for each of the apartments, along with ample visitor parking.

Lifestyle

The house is surrounded by breathtaking forest, paths and parkland, collections of specimen trees and grounds approaching five acres, complete with tennis court, croquet and bowling lawn, making it the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of city life – whilst remaining in close proximity to the capital.

Set privately within parkland grounds of five acres and with views across the surrounding Epping Forest and north London beyond, it’s easy to forget you’re only a stone’s throw away from Loughton, Theydon Bois and Epping – and, indeed, London itself.

The Heritage Collection

Drawing on the rich history of the Estate, the Heritage Collection places modern traditionalism at the forefront of design. Taking inspiration from Woodredon’s 19th and early 20th century architecture and skilfully blending with all the luxuries of 21st century living creates a collection of elegant and incredibly comfortable apartments.

The LOFT COLLECTION

With an emphasis on light and space, the Loft Collection is set across the entire top floor of the original building, which includes the bell tower. Comprising of just two bespoke apartments and combining rustic-style, beamed spaces with slick contemporary flair, this collection offers a modern, lofty feel set against the iconic backdrop of a country home.

THE CONTEMPORARY COLLECTION

Modernism takes the lead in our light and airy Contemporary Collection. Designed with cutting-edge technology, high-performance materials and precise detailing, these apartments – including the exceptional duplex Treeline Penthouse complete with its own private internal lift – maintain the highest degree of elegance, while pushing the boundaries in future-thinking interior design, build and styling.

Award-winning quality from The Door

Founded in 1999, an award-winning company that has a long and proud association with the built heritage.

We specialise in finding new uses for historic buildings that have maybe outlived their original purpose and are in need of new life. Established primarily as a design-led developer, our passion for old buildings in any shape or form has led us to where we are today, widely recognised in the field of historic structures.

With these exceptional buildings as our backdrop, we seek to preserve and combine their historic fabric with appropriate detailing, ultra-high specifications and finishing to the highest of standards. Each project is carried out with a clear vision and focus to deliver perfection down to the finest point.

Known locally for our award-winning scheme at Chapel on the Green in Woodford Green, we continue to push the barriers to provide the very best in upscale living environments whether it be in prime central London or wider afield.

We are passionate about what we do. These magnificent buildings are irreplaceable and we are honoured to have the opportunity to work with them. In doing so, our distinct aim is to save them for the very long term, allowing you the pleasure of becoming yet another proud custodian of our built heritage.

‘We invest more time, more cost and more thought to produce something that we believe is truly breathtaking. When we say unique – an often overused term – we can say with great confidence that we mean it. The nature of the buildings we work with is testament to that. Whether it be historic mansions or derelict period farmsteads, our mission is to breathe new life into these wonderful buildings – while unashamedly adding more than a dash of style along the way.’
